STR receives $472,000 in NYS EFC Funding

The NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation has awarded a $472,000 grant to Onondaga County Save the Rain for a Downspout Disconnection Program which will remove stormwater from the combined sewer system by capturing runoff from existing downspout connections attached to Interstate Highway 690 corridor. The program will serve as a pilot for future disconnection projects and will remove a significant amount of stormwater from the local sewer system, reducing the occurrence of combined sewer overflows.
