Residential Rain Gardens

A rain garden is a shallow dug-out area that is landscaped with native plants. Rain gardens are designed to collect stormwater runoff. They will absorb the water that comes from nearby impermeable surfaces, such as roofs, driveways, and sidewalks.

Rain Barrels

Rain barrels are 50 gallon food grade containers that can be used to collect water from rooftops via the gutter and downspout.
The water collected in a rain barrel can be used for watering lawns and gardens, washing cars, or for the other multitude of needs for water outside the home.

Prevent Stormwater Pollution

Stormwater is water from rain or melting snow that does not soak into the ground. It flows from rooftops, over paved areas, bare soil, and sloped lawns. As it flows, stormwater runoff collects and transports soil, animal waste, salt, pesticides, fertilizers, oil and grease, debris and other potential pollutants.
