Project Description:

The North Side Learning Center project, located at 501 Park Street, is complete. The project replaces the currently impervious asphalt lot with porous pavement and will add additional greenspace to manage stormwater from the lot and the three buildings of a former church that is being converted to a mosque. The GIF work consists of the installation of approximately 10,500 square feet of porous pavement and approximately 3,100 square feet of added greenspace. The roof drains for the
three buildings on site have been disconnected from the combined sewer and routed to new catch basins which will discharge to the porous asphalt system. In total, more than 30,000 square feet of impervious surface will be converted to porous surfaces from this project. Overall, the installed green infrastructure will capture approximately 582,600 gallons of stormwater runoff annually.
