Syracuse, NY — Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, who has a reputation for being a political maverick, has been named one of Governing magazine’s 2011 Public Officials of the Year.
Mahoney, a Republican running unopposed for a second four-year term as county executive, is one of nine public officials to receive the award from Governing, which is distributed to government officials throughout the country.
