Rain Barrel Program

The 2021 Supply of rain barrels has been exhausted. If any barrels are rejected or returned, STR will distribute the remainder to individuals on the wait list on a first-come first-served basis. If you wish to be added to the wait list, please email Project Coordinator Jed Walsh

Save The Rain's Rain Barrel Program is a great way to contribute to enhancing water quality in our local waterways. Onondaga County residents are eligible to receive a free rain barrel after attending a brief instructional workshop. Plans are underway to develop an education and distribution program for 2021.

Help reduce the amount of stormwater from roofs that runs off of lawns and into sewer systems. Combined sewers in Syracuse can overflow during wet weather, and the use of rain barrels can help reduce the amount of pollutants going into Onondaga Lake and its tributaries.
