Project Description:

In the fall of 2013, the South Side Community Coalition completed renovations to the property located at 2327 South Salina Street.  The renovated facility is now home to the Southside Food Cooperative Center. The food co-op provides high quality, reasonably-priced food/products to residents on the Southside of the City of Syracuse. The Coalition partnered the Save the Rain Program through the Green Improvement Fund to implement green infrastructure as a part of the renovations to the site.

The project features a new porous pavement parking area, permeable paver walkways, tree pits, and planting areas with added green space.  Stormwater across the entire site is collected through these green features, including a connection between the roof of the facility and the parking lot.

In total, the project will capture an estimated 161,000 gal/yr of stormwater annually.
