Details: The Syracuse Model Neighborhood Corporation (SMNC) project incorporated green technology across several SMNC owned properties throughout the City. The project scope included the conversion of four parking lots to porous pavement and the installation of several rain gardens to collect stormwater from adjacent roof tops. The SMNC was one of the first completed GIF projects in the program and provides educational opportunities on GI implementation at the neighborhood level.
SMNC is a non-profit corporation that manages, maintains and constructs low-income housing for residents on the Southside of City of Syracuse. Established in 1972, SMNC manages over 300 properties.
