Project Description:
This gray project included the construction of a new regulator structure in South Avenue, and two conveyance flushing chambers. The “Greening the Gray” components incorporated include the utilization of captured stormwater for the flushing chambers and the installation of rain gardens for stormwater infiltration. Community members joined Save the Rain partners to plant the rain gardens during a “Community Beautification Day” on October 20, 2012 (photos below provided by Onondaga Earth Corps).
