Project Description:

The JNJ Syracuse project is located at 709 East Genesee Street. The building houses the BBQ House, which is a Chinese BBQ restaurant featuring a large eclectic menu. Looking to improve their existing parking area, JNJ Syracuse partnered with the Onondaga County Save the Rain program by implementing green infrastructure elements to manage stormwater runoff from the property.

The project includes porous pavement parking areas along with added green space.  The stormwater runoff for the entire parking area is managed by the porous pavement.    The roof runoff was also directed to the porous pavement through downspouts, ensuring that all the stormwater throughout the property is managed.

Approximately 3,637 square feet of green infrastructure was installed that captures an estimated 105,100 gallons of stormwater annually.
